Sociolinguística e identidade: uma análise reflexiva das práticas linguísticas no contexto digital

Resumo
Este trabalho tem como objeto de pesquisa a relação entre linguagem e identidade no contexto digital, analisada sob a perspectiva da Sociolinguística. Parte-se da teoria de que a linguagem é um fenômeno social, histórico e dinâmico, visando as tecnologias digitais e a popularização da internet que promovem profundas transformações nas relações sociais, na cultura e na própria forma de como nos comunicamos. O objetivo geral é analisar, de forma reflexiva, como as práticas linguísticas presentes em ambientes digitais contribuem para a construção e a manifestação da identidade dos sujeitos, considerando os usos reais da língua em situações de interação mediadas pelas tecnologias digitais. Justifica-se este estudo pela crescente presença dos ambientes virtuais no cotidiano social e pelo impacto dessas práticas nas formas de uso da linguagem, especialmente nas redes sociais e plataformas digitais, que se configuram como espaços relevantes de produção discursiva e de expressão identitária. A fundamentação teórica baseia-se nos pressupostos da Sociolinguística e da variação linguística (Labov, Saussure, Bagno, Bakhtin, Hymes), nos estudos sobre a comunicação digital (Herring, Jaffe, Crystal) e nas teorias sobre identidade e performance discursiva (Hall, Bauman, Gumperz, Goffman, Reyes). A pesquisa caracteriza-se como qualitativa, de natureza descritiva e interpretativa, com procedimento bibliográfico, fundamentada na análise de livros, artigos científicos e produções acadêmicas que discutem a linguagem em uso no contexto digital. Espera-se demonstrar que as práticas linguísticas digitais, marcadas pela variação, criatividade e adaptação ao meio, desempenham papel central na construção identitária, reafirmando que a língua acompanha as transformações sociais e tecnológicas sem perder sua função social e demonstrando a atualidade e relevância da Sociolinguística para a compreensão dos fenômenos linguísticos contemporâneos.

This research takes as its object the relationship between language and identity in the digital context, analyzed from the perspective of Sociolinguistics. It starts from the understanding that language is a social, historical, and dynamic phenomenon, considering that digital technologies and the popularization of the internet have promoted profound transformations in social relations, in culture, and in the very ways we communicate. The general objective is to reflectively analyze how linguistic practices present in digital environments contribute to the construction and manifestation of individual identities, considering the actual uses of language in interaction situations mediated by digital technologies. This study is justified by the growing presence of virtual environments in daily life and by the impact of these practices on forms of language use, especially in social media and digital platforms, which stand out as relevant spaces for discursive production and identity expression. The theoretical framework is grounded on the assumptions of Sociolinguistics and linguistic variation (Labov, Saussure, Bagno, Bakhtin, Hymes), on studies regarding digital communication (Herring, Jaffe, Crystal), and on theories of identity and discursive performance (Hall, Bauman, Gumperz, Goffman, Reyes). This research is characterized as qualitative, descriptive, and interpretative, with a bibliographic procedure, based on the analysis of books, scientific articles, and academic productions that discuss language use in the digital context. It is expected to demonstrate that digital linguistic practices, marked by variation, creativity, and adaptation to the medium, play a central role in identity construction, reaffirming that language accompanies social and technological transformations without losing its sociais function, and evidencing the relevance and timeliness of Sociolinguistics for understanding contemporary linguistic phenomena.
