In this scenario, manipulatives stand out as valuable pedagogical resources that allow students to engage with mathematical content through experimentation, observation, and active construction of knowledge. The objective of this study was to evaluate how manipulatives contribute to mathematics learning and the development of logical reasoning in the final years of Middle School. To this end, a qualitative bibliographic research was conducted, based on the analysis of books, scientific articles, monographs, and academic papers published between 2008 and 2026, available in the CAPES, SciELO, Google Scholar databases, and academic repositories. The research was based on studies addressing the use of manipulatives across various mathematical contents, such as the decimal numeral system, basic operations, fractions, proportionality, algebra, and geometry. The results showed that using these resources promotes meaningful learning, enhances conceptual understanding, encourages student participation, and aids in the development of logical-mathematical reasoning. In addition to demonstrating that manipulatives can enhance active learning methodologies, the analyzed studies also indicated benefits related to motivation, autonomy, problem-solving, and student agency. Furthermore, it was found that the effectiveness of these resources depends directly on pedagogical planning and teacher mediation. Manipulatives constitute a relevant strategy for mathematics teaching in the final years of Middle School, as they contribute to the construction of sounder, contextualized, and more meaningful knowledge.
