The study aimed to understand how playful activities contribute to the child's holistic development, encompassing cognitive, social, emotional, and motor aspects. It is a qualitative, bibliographic study grounded in the works of authors such as Piaget, Vygotsky, Kishimoto, and Winnicott, as well as official documents like the Law of Guidelines and Bases of National Education (LDB), the National Common Curricular Base (BNCC), and the National Curricular Guidelines for Early Childhood Education (RCNEI). Theoretical results demonstrate that play should not be viewed merely as recreation but as a foundational pedagogical strategy capable of fostering meaningful learning, social interaction, creativity, and child autonomy. It is also observed that playfulness fosters active knowledge construction, allowing children to experiment, discover, and reinterpret their experiences within the school environment. Furthermore, the teacher's role as a key mediator in this process is highlighted, particularly in planning and organizing pedagogical practices that integrate play with educational objectives.
