Roraima-RO. 2025.https://repositorio.ifrr.edu.br/handle/123456789/216This study aims to analyze the impacts of Law No. 13,415/2017 in Bahia, which reformed secondary education in Brazil, especially in relation to the job market for Spanish-speaking professionals. A brief history of Brazilian legislation on the subject will be presented, the importance of the Spanish language in the country and the job market for Spanish language teachers in Bahia. To prepare this study, discussions were held with theorists who deal with issues pertinent to the object proposed here, as well as legal documents, basic education curriculum in the country related to foreign languages. It was possible to verify that the exclusion of this curricular component resulted in a significant reduction in jobs for Spanish language teachers in the public and private networks of Bahia.
