The objective of this research was to discuss the ways in which TBL, as an active methodology, can contribute to mathematics classes in the final years of elementary school (grades 6-9) within the scope of its execution stages: ensuring preparation or pre-class; ensuring readiness and application of concepts. The procedure used was through bibliographic research with a qualitative approach, in national databases, mostly in education journals, and international databases, on Michaelsen's own institutional website, among others, as well as through books, and which aimed to disseminate knowledge about TBL, juxtaposed in mathematics classes, but which can be adapted to any context. The application of team-based learning in mathematics classes has shown promise in promoting student leadership, engagement, critical thinking, and collaboration.
