This article examines the supervised curricular internship in Portuguese language within the context of teacher training for Language and Literature majors, aiming to highlight the challenges and possibilities that emerged during its implementation. The research aims to present the challenges and possibilities identified by students in the distance learning (EAD) Language and Literature program (specializing in Portuguese and Spanish) based on internship reports submitted as assessment requirements for the Portuguese language supervised internship courses. Seven internship reports were analyzed, focusing on the future teachers' perspectives regarding the supervisedinternship practice undertaken during their Portuguese language training; the study outlines key challenges and possibilities, presents cases of successful actions and experiences alongside major difficulties encountered, and thereby provides feedback to the institution's teacher training process. The supervised internship is recognized as a space for learning the teaching profession and constructing professional identity. Thus, it is understood as a field of knowledge—one that must be accorded an epistemological status inseparable from practice—and is conceived as praxis, defined by an investigative attitude involving reflection on and intervention in educational issues. The internship offers new possibilities for teaching and learning the teaching profession—including for teacher educators, inviting them to re-examine their conceptions of teaching and learning.
