Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (Licenciatura em Ciências Biológicas) - Instituto Federal de Roraima, Boa Vista, 2025.https://repositorio.ifrr.edu.br/handle/123456789/278This monograph focuses on supervised internships and the role of the supervising professor, aiming to analyze the experiences of interns in the Biological Sciences degree program at the Federal Institute of Roraima/Boa Vista Campus regarding the performance of supervising professors during mandatory internships, comparing expectations and realities. The research is basic in nature, with descriptive and exploratory characteristics, analytical-reflective and qualitative approach. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with seventeen academics who completed mandatory supervised internships, capturing their experiences and perceptions of the supervision they received. This study was approved by the Research Ethics Committee (CEP/UFRR), with CAAE number 92064625.6.0000.5302. The data were analyzed according to the content analysis technique proposed by Bardin (2016), divided into pre-analysis, exploration of the material, and treatment of the results. It was observed that the participants presented dissatisfactions, such as: a) realities diverging from expectations; b) lack of openness to communication; c) lack of preparation of supervisors; and d) importance of the role of supervisors. Those who reported good internships highlighted: e) openness to communication; f) experienced teachers who passed on their knowledge; g) enrichment of learning. It was concluded that the mandatory supervised internship highlighted the importance of adequate guidance, with positive experiences reported about supervisors who offered support. Gaps were identified, such as the lack of preparation of supervisors and the need for training.
