However, challenges compromising the quality of education persist in rural areas of Brazil, particularly in the North region. In this context, this study aims to analyze the main difficulties facing education in rural schools in the state of Roraima between 2018 and 2025, focusing specifically on the municipality of São Luiz do Anauá. This is a qualitative study employing a descriptive and exploratory approach, conducted through a literature review and document analysis. Data were gathered from databases such as SciELO, Google Scholar, the CAPES Journal Portal, and the Brazilian Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations (BDTD), as well as from official documents issued by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), the Ministry of Education (MEC), and the National Institute for Educational Studies and Research Anísio Teixeira (INEP). The data were organized and interpreted using the content analysis technique proposed by Bardin (2011). The results reveal that factors such as poor school infrastructure, access difficulties, a shortage of qualified teachers, and weaknesses in public educational policies directly impact the teaching-learning process. Furthermore, the socioeconomic conditions of rural families significantly influence student retention and academic performance. It was also observed that, although public policies aimed at rural education exist, their implementation faces limitations, particularly regarding continuity and alignment with local realities.
