Guided by Brazilian legislation, the Base Nacional Comum Curricular (BNCC), and international guidelines from IFLA/UNESCO, this study analyzes the role of school libraries in fostering historical skills such as source analysis, contextualization, interpretation, and evidence-based argumentation. Libraries integrated into teaching planning, combined with active methodologies—particularly Problem-Based Learning—promote student engagement, investigative learning, and the development of critical and autonomous thinking.
