The relevance of these spaces is evident in how they enable direct student contact with nature, fostering the development of ecological awareness. The research aimed to analyze 15 documents to assess the importance of school green spaces within the context of Environmental Education. To this end, a bibliographic research method was adopted, utilizing a qualitative approach with a descriptive and exploratory nature. Materials were selected from databases such as Google Scholar, Periódicos CAPES, and SciELO, covering publications from the last ten years. The analysis revealed that various authors highlight the importance of school green spaces through the implementation of environmental activities, such as school gardens and composting. Furthermore, the need to integrate Environmental Education into the school curriculum in a transversal and interdisciplinary manner was underscored. The results indicate that school green spaces play a significant role in elementary and middle education, contributing to the development of students who are more environmentally conscious and responsible.
