This study aims to reflect on the importance of educational assessment in Mathematics teaching, discussing its diagnostic, formative, and summative functions. A literature review of scientific journals and specialized books was conducted. The results indicate that well-planned assessment allows teachers to identify conceptual difficulties, redirect methodological strategies, and promote meaningful learning.
