It is based on the understanding that, although PTE plays a fundamental role in the integral education of individuals, traditional pedagogical practices centered on content transmission still predominate, limiting students’ protagonism in the teaching-learning process. In this context, the research seeks to understand how active methodologies can contribute to the development of students’ autonomy by promoting meaningful, critical, and reflective learning. This study adopts a qualitative approach, with an exploratory and descriptive nature, grounded in bibliographic review, highlighting authors such as Paulo Freire, Dermeval Saviani, and José Moran, as well as formative experiences developed throughout the postgraduate course. As a result, a pedagogical intervention plan is proposed, structured around strategies such as problem-based learning, flipped classroom, and collaborative learning.
