Poluição luminosa e o potencial de lampyridae (vaga-lumes) como bioindicadores ambientais: uma revisão integrativa.2026. Trabalho de conclusão de curso(Licenciatura em Ciências Biológicas- EaD)-Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia de Roraima, Boa Vista, 2026.https://repositorio.ifrr.edu.br/handle/123456789/597Light pollution, resulting from the excessive use of artificial light at night, has been recognized as a significant factor impacting biodiversity. Among the organisms most sensitive to this phenomenon are fireflies (Lampyridae), bioluminescent insects that rely on darkness for reproductive communication. This study aimed to analyze the influence of light pollution on firefly behavior and survival, as well as to discuss their effectiveness as environmental bioindicators based on Brazilian scientific literature. This is a qualitative study conducted through an integrative literature review. The bibliographic survey was carried out between March and April 2026 and updated via a supplementary search on June 15, 2026, using databases such as Google Scholar, SciELO, PubMed, and Periódicos CAPES, alongside institutional repositories of Brazilian universities. The descriptors used were “Lampyridae,” “fireflies,” “light pollution,” “artificial light at night,” “bioindicators,” and “LED.” Selection criteria included studies published between 2009 and 2024 that were available in full-text digital format and relevant to the proposed topic. The data were subjected to Content Analysis, as proposed by Bardin, enabling the organization, categorization, and interpretation of the identified scientific evidence. The final corpus consisted of 13 documents: 10 scientific articles, 1 dissertation, 1 academic paper, and 1 review study. The results indicated that artificial light at night interferes with Lampyridae bioluminescent communication, reducing reproductive success and contributing to behavioral changes and population decline. It is concluded that light pollution poses a significant threat to the conservation of these insects, reinforcing their potential as bioindicators of environmental quality and highlighting the need for mitigation strategies. The study contributes to broadening discussions on sensory ecology and informs future biodiversity conservation strategies.pt-BRAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 BrazilIluminação artificial noturnaBioluminescênciaBioindicadores ambientaisConservação da biodiversidadeEcologia de insetosPoluição luminosa e o potencial de lampyridae (vaga-lumes) como bioindicadores ambientais: uma revisão integrativatcc_graduacaoCIENCIAS BIOLOGICASCIENCIAS BIOLOGICAS::ECOLOGIACIENCIAS HUMANAS::EDUCACAO
