The objective was to understand the transformations that occurred in health policies during this period, highlighting the social, political, and economic impacts on the Brazilian health system. The research, qualitative and descriptive in nature, was based on a literature review of authors such as Bertolli Filho (2007) and Moysés Filho et al. (2016), as well as historical documents and legislation from the period. The results indicate that, although the regime provoked censorship, repression, and budget cuts in the health sector, it also created important policies, such as the National Immunization Program (Law No. 6,259/1975) and the Ministry of Social Security and Assistance (Law No. 6,036/1974), which contributed significantly to the development of public health in Brazil. It can be concluded that, even under an authoritarian context, initiatives occurred that served as the basis for the subsequent formation of the Unified Health System (SUS), created by the Federal Constitution of 1988.pt-BRAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 BrazilDitadura cívico-militarSaúde públicaPolíticas de saúdeSistema Único de SaúdeRevisão da saúde pública durante a ditadura cívico militar (1964-1985)tcc_graduacaoCIENCIAS DA SAUDE::SAUDE COLETIVAGESTAOGESTAO HOSPITALARSAUDE PUBLICA
